Date:2018/11/06

Earlier in October 2018, we received a text published on a reader’s column of  UCA news, the text was sent by the so-called “Taiwan Catholic Church mission for protecting the family” (天主教護家使命團). Many of the statements in this article are misunderstandings and inconsistent with the facts. For a general clarification, please refer to our previous statement (link). We hereby would like to reiterate again:

1. TLA has been officially registered as Taiwan Lourdes Association since 2006. TLA is an independent legal entity and is not affiliated with any church.

2. Due to TLA’s history and based on its purpose and mission of service, TLA sees no reason to change its name.

3. TLA and Taiwan GDi Association operate independently and have had no affiliation since 2013, the year in which GDi was registered.

4. TLA has been engaged in professional help services adhering to the concepts of empowerment, harm reduction, respecting diversity, and inclusion.

5. TLA respects freedom of speech. Nevertheless, we will resort to legal measures against any malicious slander.

Finally, TLA follows the spirit of the Christ and prays for the Father to forgive others' faults, especially in regard to any misunderstanding and deliberate accusation. TLA will continue to serve the weakest brothers and sisters, as is the spirit of Him.

Taiwan Lourdes Association.
